Tips from Jerry Thoms, Senior Field Editor for Gun Dog Magazine

Most dogs naturally love to fetch most anything their owners throw for them. The GO-FRRR, a  firm and bouncy rubber ball with a built-in loop of surgical tubing, is easy for anyone to launch by hooking the ball on a thumb or on the  plastic hand-held launcher then pulling back and  releasing the ball which will fly through the air up to 150 feet or more.   Dogs will be obsessed with chasing and retrieving the ball when it hits the ground and bounces a half dozen times.

  1. Launch GO-FRRR from a standing or sitting position with a minimum of effort unlike standard retrieving dummies that require a strong arm and lots of stamina.

  2. Because the GO-FRRR floats, this "smarter" retrieving dummy is ideal for use in water especially on hot days when  an exercising dog needs to be kept cool.

  3. Make a game of shooting the GO-FRRR at a distant target to keep the exercise session more interesting.

  4. Wear a cotton glove on the hand that holds the ball for a more secure grip.

  5. Develop a close bond with your dog and, at the same time, improve his retrieving skills, provide healthy aerobic exercise, and maintain strong foot pads and short toenails.

  6. You can treat your dog to The 10 Minute Mile:

  • First…launch the GO-FRRR ball 125 feet. Your dog will run out and retrieve and return…that’s 250 feet!  Do it again…now he has run a total of 500 feet.   Each set of 2 launches gives him a 500 foot run.

  • Complete your second set of two launches …Now your dog has run over 1000 feet.  As you can see…it does not take long to give your dog an intense workout.   Can you spare 10 minutes a day, 3 days a week for your dog?

  • Continue these sets until your dog completes the “Ten Minute Mile”.  This great exercise program was suggested by Jerry Thoms, field editor for GUNDOG Magazine.  His dog is always fit and ready to hunt!

  • Your dog will be in such good shape…your family will suggest you run along with him!
